Brenden loves playing pirates. Notice I have my swords, yes more than one, in the back of my shirt. Brenden has one too you just can't see it.

Lion King And Church
Yesterday 09/21/2013 Alan, Brenden, me and Brenden's school headed to Pittsburgh for the Lion King Broadway Show. Alan and I were both nervous as we didn't know what to expect out of Brenden. What 4 year old could sit through a 2 1/2 hours Broadway show? Well to our surprise, Brenden did wonderful. He was tired and started to get a little board with sitting there but he did great!
The staff at this show was great. See this wasn't just any show, it was and Autism Friendly show. Basically that means the staff is specially trained, sensory rooms and activity rooms were set up and available to be used at any time you where there and needed them. Brenden loved the sensory room with all the colored bubble lights and strands of lights. They had this awesome rocking chair that was made out of form and he loved being on that as well. It was a great place for him and anyone to get away from the noise and lights of the show. Alan and I both felt the microphones on the people were turned down and the lights were softer. Again, something that most people on the Autism spectrum have problems with. Here are few pics. We couldn't take any while the show was going on and I was very busy wrangling him that I wasn't able to really get any other pictures but these few from Alan.
The Cole family, my adopted family, with their one grandchild Nathan. He's really Pappy's boy as you can tell. Karen put her hand on pappy's back and he didn't like that.
And here is a glimpse of Brenden in the bounce house. He wouldn't stop for a picture so this is the best I got.
Both days were filled with lots of fun and one tired little boy. That's what all us moms hope for. We love our kids but they go to sleep so much better when you tire them out.

Today our church had a picnic after the service. It's usually a great time and this year was the same. They have a bounce house and our course, my little jumper, didn't want to do anything but jump. Her he is pretending he wants to go down the slide but yet he really doesn't. He found this to be a game.

Brenden moving to head start and what we have been up too.
We got word from Brenden's teacher that he is ready to move to head start with other kids not on the Autism spectrum. I think this will be a good test for him before he go to kindergarten next year. Wow, where has the time gone. He will be five in December. For those of you who know Brenden, it seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital and we were so worried that our little boy would never talk. Now he is saying new words every day and is constantly surprising up everyday.
It's almost officially fall! With this brings a happier Brenden since he cannot tolerate the heat. Although winter is right around the corner and he can't tolerate that either. But fall we will embrace. We got to spend some time outside yesterday and today. Brenden had a blast both days.
We got to spend some time with some good friends the other weekend. Here's a picture!
Brenden loves these guys. And I think they all love Brenden too. They all seem very happy when playing together.
Heres a pic of Brenden and I being Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that I will leave you with.
Enjoy the cool, fall weather everyone!
